Skype Adds Premium Rate PSTN Numbers

Skype announced today that they are opening up calling to premium rate PSTN numbers in the United Kingdom.

Because of heavy consumer request, Skype will making premium UK 09/minute priced numbers available to their subscribers worldwide. “The 09 series is particularly popular with the likes of purchasing mobile ringtones and advisory lines such as love, relationships and astrology.”

Skype is only opening access to premium numbers in the UK. Users have the option of blocking access to those numbers, by going to their ‘My Account’ page.
