A new ‘Browzar’

Where others love Firefox and/or Opera, I love Internet Expolerer 7.
As soon as the Beta version was launched, I downloaded it and survived all the bugs.
Yes, there is still room for improvements but that is how it should be: No Improvements, No Future.
Of course I use Firefox as well but IE7 is my main browser.

Today I read an article about a new browser called ‘
Browzar’.
Browzar automatically deletes Internet caches, histories, cookies, and auto-complete forms. Auto-complete is the feature that anticipates the search term or Web address a user might enter by relying on information previously entered into the browser.

Browzar is the brainchild of Ajaz Ahmed, the man behind Freeserve, the first U.K. Internet service provider to offer free Internet access to customers in the late 1990s. He sold Freeserve - which quickly became the U.K.'s largest ISP - to France Telecom's Wanadoo operation in 2001 for $3 billion.

I downloaded the ‘black version’. It looks nice, is very simple to use and understand and definitely ideal for those who are not very familiar with Internet and all it’s dangerous cookies.
It is basic, ok. But didn’t Skype start as a basic program???

  1. Yes, Skype started basic, that is why my father (79 years old) used it.

I gets more and more complicated, that is why my father doesn't use it anymore.

And that is why i get often support requests from my professional contacts about some difficulties or features!

I think they should re-launch a simple "version 1.0" again, with only the basic features in it!

  2. With all respects, using IE as a main browser is a dangerous thing, a very even. I have got a friend who lost all his credit card value because of a security hole in IE. Even if you install all updates, hotfixes, patches, there are constantly more and more security issues found. IE7 will not change this!
Using IE7 Betas and RCs in a productive enviroment is a double no-no even.

Considering you are even doung business on your computer, be a bit more responsible about security and holes.

Speaking about FireFox: If it would ever succeed IE and overturn IE in popularity, then it was experiencing the same problem like IE now.

Just makes me sad when people do not know about this risks and write "IE is great" blo entries.

love to see this discussion! It’s great to see you all working through the issues and also, it’s great to see recommendations for testing. In the end, it’s what your actual users do and prefer that should be your biggest driver in making these decisions.
